India, officially the Republic of India Bhārat Gaṇarājya, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populouscountry with over 1.2 billion people, and the most populous democracy in the world. It is bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the southwest, and the Bay of Bengal on the southeast. The Dal Lake in Kashmir is home to India's first floating post office.The floating post office was inaugurated by former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in August 2011.Special feature of this post office is that the letters that are posted here carry a special design with pictures of scintillating landscapes of the Dal Lake and other Srinagar attractions. The museum in the post office showcases its history and several fascinating postage stamps.
A kumbha (Sanskrit: कुम्भ) is a type of pottery in India. Mawsynram, a village on the Khasi Hills Mawsynram in India- the wettest place on earth. oddly enough, lifelong residents of Mawsynram, a small cluster of hamlets in Meghalaya state have little idea that their scenic home holds a Guinness record for the highest average annual rainfall of 11,873 millimetres. Mawsynram receives one of the highest rainfalls in India.
Bandra Worli Sea Link Officially known as Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link, this eight-lane cable-stayed bridge in Mumbai is the first project initiated by Maharashtra Government that commences West Island Freeway System. Bandra Worli Sea Link is one of the few bridges that is a cable-stayed with pre-stressed concrete-steel viaducts to hold it in place. Spanning across the arc of Mumbai's coastline, this sea link is a civil engineering wonder that reflects the modern infrastructure of the city of Mumbai. The bridge is designed to cater around 37,500 vehicles per day while reducing the time travel between Bandra and Worli by a big margin. The beauty of the Bandra Worli Sea Link is in its engineering genius which gently compliments the crystal waters it is built over. Overlooking the magnificent blue waters of Mahim Bay, this splendid architecture is a mighty sight to behold.
India is second only to the USA when it comes to speaking English with around 125 million people speaking the language, which is only 10% of our population. This is expected to grow by quite a margin in the coming years.
